Ah yes, the joys of fishing, theres nothing like a warm pleasant day with friends and family on the banks of your favourite body of water passing away a few companionable hours with plenty of fish being caught.

Unfortunately that is nothing like what the joys of fishing are about. Warm pleasant day ..... no chance.

It's either Saharah Desert Sunshine frying your brain with factor 200 sunscreen applied so liberally that the first cast sees your brand new expensive rod flying out of your hand and disappears in to the murky depths leaving you to use something your grandfather called a rod but was an antique when he was a boy.

OR

It's teeming down with either rain,sleet,snow,hail or all four at once with a Force 9 Gale with a wind chill factor of -30 blowing straight into your face, so that everytime you cast out, your bait does a U-turn in mid air and comes straight back into your eye whilst leaving the hook in your ear.

The fish ain't biting, In the summer sun your beer boils away and in the icy blasts of winter your coffee freezes . Your friends and family are now your most bitter enemies as you compete to catch the one elusive beast that will prove that you are the complete angler.

Suddenly theres a shout "I've caught a fish",this will be done by the smallest child of the party who has been given a stick, some wool, a bent pin and a piece of orange peel for bait to keep them quiet and the mighty beast itself will be a 2 oz Minnow with one eye who only got himself caught with the hope of a jam jar with clean water instead of the polluted hole he came from.

NOW THATS REAL FISHING!!!
